Auerbach graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law with honors and has been practicing law since 1974. He served as a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for four years, lectured on bankruptcy with the Continuing Legal Education Institute, served as a court-appointed bankruptcy examiner, and has testified as a bankruptcy law expert. He was the lead plaintiff's counsel in the successful class action case of Grice v. PNC Mortgage Company, and is a member of the Advisory Board of the Bankruptcy Law Reporter for the Bureau of National Affairs.
